Rates

Rates include accommodation, all meals, selected premium wines and champagnes, top shelf spirits & bar drinks, laundry and the following activities: Guided lemur walks, forest walks, scuba diving around Miavana, resort diving lessons which include a discover scuba dive lesson, bubble maker or refresher course, snorkelling, boat cruises, island cultural visits, shore-based fishing, half-day fishing trips, surf-ski, water skiing, standup paddle boarding, wakeboarding, introductory kite-surfing lessons, a 20-minute welcome spa treatment per person, daily group yoga classes, bicycling, quad biking and the use of an electric buggy per villa.

Rates exclude reserve list wines & champagnes, entry visas, flights, Meet and Greet services at arrival and departure airports, helicopter transfers, helicopter adventures, full-day deep-sea fishing, PADI qualifications, spa treatments and private yoga classes, boutique purchases, gratuities and personal expenses.

Tour Leader/Pilot/Guide: $790 per person per night as well as $150 Conservation Levies and Access Fees which are non-commissionable (non-commissionable)

Arrival & Departure Airport Assistance: $140 per person (non-commissionable)

Helicopter Transfers: Diego Suarez to/from Miavana $800 per adult/child each way per seat; Nosy Be to/from Miavana $1,200 per adult/child each way per seat. Min 2 adults (non-commissionable). The specific helicopters used for each routing are determined by our operations team on the island

Helicopter Adventures: $2,500 per hour of flying in the R66 helicopter (3-seater); $5,200 per hour of flying in the H130 helicopter (6-seater). After the first flying hour, any additional flying is then charged proportionately (non-commissionable)

Private Jet Rates: Quotation available on request (non-commissionable)

Deep-Sea Fishing: $620 per trip over 4 hours (non-commissionable)

PADI Diving Certification: $400 Open Water I; $300 Open Water II per person (non-commissionable)

Kite-Surfing: Additional lessons are charged at $150 per person for 2 hours (non-commissionable)

Supervised Childcare: $30 per hour per villa (non-commissionable)

For guided excursions, a private guide will accompany guests in the helicopter. Therefore, maximum capacity is 2 passengers in the R66 helicopter and 5 passengers in the H130 helicopter. Helicopter adventures are subject to availability. Due to other guest transfers and weather conditions, timing for any pre-booked helicopter adventures will only be confirmed on the island.

Please remember luggage stipulation due to heli requirements.

Miavana operates 1 Robinson Turbine R66 helicopter, which takes a maximum of 3 passengers and flies with one pilot, and 1 Airbus H130 helicopter, which seats up to 6 passengers and one pilot. Infants aged 1 to 23 months can be seated on parents’ laps. Children aged 2 years and over must occupy their own seat under adult supervision. Helicopter seats operate with a maximum weight allowance, please ensure that you share each passenger’s weight so that our pilots may calculate the totals accurately. Should a passenger exceed the maximum weight allowance, a second seat may be charged. Unless specifically booked, all helicopter transfers may be shared. The specific helicopters used for each routing are determined by our operations team on the island. For stays of 5 nights or more, arrival and departure helicopter flights to / from Miavana, either from Diego Suarez or Nosy Be, are complimentary. Helicopter transfers to / from other areas in Northern Madagascar can be arranged at an additional charge. Prior to your arrival, please discuss preferred arrival / departure times with your Travel Designer. Our helicopters strictly operate during daylight hours. If for any reason guests are delayed on / off the island, Time + Tide cannot be held responsible if guests are unable to get to Miavana / mainland Madagascar. Any forced overnights are for the agent’s / guests’ account.

Maximum luggage weight of 20kg (44lbs) + small handbag of 5kg (11lbs) per person. Soft sided luggage is required due to storage hold size limitations of the helicopters.

Excess luggage is not guaranteed to be brought to Miavana and if guests want to guarantee excess luggage they should inform the company well in advance.

There will be an additional cost charged for the guests’ account.

Alternatively, please enquire before arrival for excess luggage storage at Diego Suarez or Nosy Be International Airports.

Conservation levies and access fees are additional to the accommodation cost (per person, per night) and will be added according to the total number of guests travelling (adults and children). Please note that these costs are subject to change.

Children of all ages are welcome at Miavana. Children under 18 years of age are 50% of the nightly adult rate. Up to 2 children under 14 years of age stay complimentary, when sharing with an adult. Conservation Levies and Access Fees are applicable for children aged 2 - 17, while children under the age of 2 are free of charge. Some of our activities may be unsuitable for younger children, therefore personalised activity programs will be designed once on the island.

Adults are responsible for supervising children at all times.

A commitment fee of 20% of the total cost of your booking or the cost of any third-party services held (whichever is higher) is required to confirm the booking and secure the space. This is nonrefundable and due within 14 days of confirmation. Full and final payment of the remaining balance is required 45 days prior to arrival. Time + Tide accepts two methods of payment:

Electronic Bank Transfers

Funds transferred to Time + Tide should be the full amount invoiced. The payee is liable for all foreign exchange commissions and / or bank charges.

Credit card payment

Time + Tide accepts payment by all major credit cards, including virtual credit cards (VCC). A service fee of 4% will be charged for each transaction.

Tipping is customary at your discretion however on Miavana, we prefer that guests tip the staff at the end of their stay, rather than throughout their stay. We generally advise $15 - $30 per guest per day for the general staff. You may tip your Villa Attendant and Spa Therapists separately which is generally advised, $15 - $30 per guest per day.

Maximum number of guests is 42. A minimum of a 5-night stay is required. Helicopter return transfer excluded. To accommodate all transfers to Miavana on the same day, a strict helicopter schedule will need to be adhered to and will be dependent on seasonality as well as passenger weights. Additional overnight charges will be applied in order for the helicopter pilots to reposition the day prior to arrival. A non-refundable commitment fee of 20% of total booking value is required to secure the accommodation. Full and final payment of remaining balance is required 90 days prior to arrival date.

From confirmation date - 46 days: 20% of total booking value. 45 - 0 days: 100% of total booking value is due. Issued flights are non-refundable.

Travel Insurance: Upon booking confirmation, guest to ensure that the appropriate comprehensive travel and medical insurance is taken out to protect against, inter alia, cancellation or interruption of tour, personal accident, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of baggage. Time + Tide cannot take responsibility for external events that may result in travel delays e.g. adverse weather conditions, rescheduled / missed flights etc. The guest is responsible for any and all expenses that arise as a result of last-minute changes to itineraries.
