Spa treatments offer one of the quickest and most effective ways to ease into the gentle rhythm of island life. To kickstart the journey towards rejuvenation, I suggest the Miavana Signature Massage. This deeply relaxing treatment draws inspiration from Asian traditions, blending techniques from Balinese and Thai massage. Passive stretching and a full-body massage with Terres d’Afrique oil work together to relieve muscle stiffness, improve circulation, and melt away tension. The unique blend of essential oils uplifts the spirit, promoting positivity and wellness.

Miavana is a place where the mind, body, and soul find harmony. On the island, my favourite activity for a full heart is meditation which assists you to destress and find inner peace. The serene atmosphere of the island provides the perfect backdrop for quiet reflection, allowing you to reconnect with yourself and nature. For those looking to get the blood pumping and body moving, I recommend yoga, as it improves flexibility, enhances strength, and provides a wonderful sense of balance and wellbeing. While the entire island offers serene escapes, I find the Kite Deck to be the most tranquil spot. Remote and peaceful, it’s best visited early in the morning—my favourite time is 5am, when the island is cool, quiet, and utterly serene.

Of course, wellness is not just about the body but also about the mind and the spirit.

This beautiful book showcases the island’s incredible variety of birds and is perfect for those seeking a deeper connection with Madagascar’s rich natural environment. And since they say laughter is the best medicine, I recommend spending time with Mr. Hardy, one of our passionate guides from the Activity Centre. Whether leading a thrilling helicopter ride on the mainland or guiding a lemur walk, Mr. Hardy brings laughter and joy to every excursion.

What you choose to fuel your body with also impacts your overall wellbeing. At Miavana, every meal is thoughtfully prepared by our team of chefs to be both delicious and nourishing. As mornings are my favourite time of day, it’s no surprise that our in-villa breakfast menu is a personal highlight. My go-to choice is the raw granola or homemade muesli served with coconut yogurt and tropical fresh fruit, paired with a power shot to boost my immune system. My favourites include the beetroot, ginger, and lime shot or the pok choy, moringa, parsley, and lime blend.
