Set off Madagascar’s remote northeastern coast, Miavana is a year-round destination. Like the Seychelles and Mauritius, northern Madagascar experiences two distinct seasons, each bringing its own weather patterns, ocean conditions and remarkable wildlife encounters. At Miavana by Time + Tide, the changing seasons are not something to work around but are woven into your private island escape.
There is no single perfect time to visit. Instead, there is the season that best matches the journey you hope to have.
Whether that means barefoot days spent drifting between coral reefs and secluded beaches, or watching whales breach beyond the reef before setting out to kite across the bay, every visit is shaped by the island’s ever-changing character. Guided by the tides, the wind and years of local knowledge, our team crafts each day around you and the conditions, ensuring you experience the very best the island has to offer.

How Miavana Makes Every Season Extraordinary
Before you even arrive, our experienced Travel Designers take the time to understand the kind of holiday you’re dreaming of, helping you choose the season that best suits your interests. Once on the island, the Miavana team takes over. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, each day is thoughtfully planned around the prevailing conditions. If there isn’t enough wind for kitesurfing, it could be the perfect morning to explore nearby islands by helicopter. If the diving conditions aren’t quite right, the afternoon could instead take you in search of Madagascar’s unique wildlife, or perhaps nowhere further than the spa. With private helicopters, boats, multiple beaches, secluded bays and an extraordinary variety of experiences, Miavana offers remarkable flexibility.
There are countless ways to experience Miavana. The weather simply helps decide which adventure comes first.
Insider Tip: “Leave a little space in your itinerary. Some of Miavana’s most memorable experiences are the spontaneous ones, whether that’s following a pod of dolphins, lingering over lunch at Crab Shack or taking to the skies because the conditions are simply too good to miss.” — Taryn Uytenbogaardt, Time + Tide Travel Designer
